In keeping with a grand Texas tradition (one begun in 1967), the iconic Zilker Holiday Tree will be illuminated during a tree lighting ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 6 p.m.
The towering “tree” stands a proud 155 feet tall and is adorned with a whopping 3,309 multicolored bulbs hung from 39 streamers – all converted to LED in 2019 – spanning 380 feet in circumference with a 120-foot diameter.
Topping things off is a 10-foot double star, blazing with the light of 150 frosted bulbs, arranged in a unique, spiral pattern crafted by City of Austin electricians.
Cheers to 56 years!
