Empowered women, empower women

I’ve attended the Austin Business Journal’s “Women in Business” awards for years. It’s one of my favorite events because it’s a chance for women to cheer each other on.

This year, I had the opportunity to serve as a judge. What an honor, I thought. It’ll be fun. On the contrary. This was one of the hardest things I’ve done all year.

Each nomination was better than the last. The stories made me laugh. Some made me cry. They made me feel fortunate to be in such good company among women making Austin a better place to live and work.
