Computer science development takes center stage at Texas State Capitol event

Students across Texas presented computer science projects to members of the state legislature last week at Code @ the Capitol, presented by Computer Science for Texas (CS4TX).

The event raised awareness for Texas lawmakers to invest in statewide computer science education and the CS4TX rider.

While computing is integral to nearly every industry, Texas schools perform below national averages for computer science education and  Texas is one of the few states yet to invest in it.

Support for the CS4TX rider will fund a teacher development network across Texas to enhance opportunities for our students to shine in the computer sciences.
