Since 1929, Austinites have soared into spring with their eyes toward the sky. After 96 years and counting, the ABC Kite Fest remains one of the city’s most beloved, family-friendly traditions – and will take flight April 5 in Zilker Park.
The day-long festival boasts activities for all ages – from a traditional kite flying contest (with prizes awarded for the largest, steadiest and most unusual kites) to MossFest, a children’s music concert.
This annual event, the country’s longest-running festival of its kind, is underwritten by ABC Home and Commercial Services and produced by the nonprofit Friends of the ABC Kite Fest.
