This summer, the City of Austin and MetroBike are rolling out even more options for those choosing to get around on two wheels instead of four.
The public bikeshare system, maintained by CapMetro, launched in December 2013 boasting 100 bikes. The new agreement plans to replace and expand 80 MetroBike Stations, 1,000 docks and 800 bicycles – transitioning the entire fleet to e-bikes with an eye toward sustainability.
Bikes are not just eco-friendly; they get people places other public transit can’t – ensuring all access to the last mile.
