At two of these spots, both the menu and environs are transformational. Hillside Farmacy is just what the doctor (literally) ordered, as earlier iterations were a pharmacy and barbershop. Savor end-of-summer at these eateries:

• Hillside Farmacy (1209 E. 11th St.) features the best in local. Try Texas bruleé grapefruit half, Texas NY strip and eggs, plus grass-fed burgers and seasonal veggie-packed salads.

• Launderette (2115 Holly St.) boasts al fresco noshing on house specialties like the pulled chicken with salsa verde, the Fried Chicken Sammy with poblano slaw or a farrow bowl starring pan-seared rainbow trout.

• Sour Duck Market (1814 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.) is a sweet find, boasting Ahmad’s Brekky Sammie (until 3 p.m.) and an uber local TX Farm Chop Salad topped with mole granola.
