Skillpoint Alliance offers free manufacturing class to meet workforce pipeline needs created by Texas CHIPS Act

by The 100 Companies

On Thursday, June 8, Governor Abbott signed into law the Texas CHIPS Act – new legislation that will further bolster Texas’ position nationally and internationally in the semiconductor industry.

Skillpoint Alliance – which provides fast-paced, workforce development training in the electrical, plumbing, HVAC and manufacturing trades to lower-income, underserved and under-accessed populations – offers a free Certified Production Technician manufacturing program that trains participants to fill the manufacturing jobs that the Texas CHIPS Act will create.

Applicants who successfully enroll in the Austin and San Marcos programs will learn about manufacturing safety, quality practices and measurement, manufacturing processes and production and maintenance awareness.
