Cadets graduate from ESD No. 2’s in-house firefighter/EMT certification program

by The 100 Companies

In January 2022, Travis County ESD No. 2 launched a new version of their in-house firefighter/EMT certification program that trainees can participate in without having prior certifications.

Everything trainees need to learn is taught through ESD No. 2’s Fire Academy Cadet Program, a free six-month curriculum that certifies civilians who meet the minimum qualifications to become certified Texas firefighters/EMTs.

Cadet class 33 for Travis County ESD No. 2 marks one year of this new in-house firefighter/EMT certification program. Since the launch of this innovative program, ESD No. 2 has seen an increase in both the number and diversity of applicants.
