Library Day at the Capitol

by The 100 Companies

On Tuesday, March 28, State Senator Sarah Eckhardt and State Representative James Talarico read resolutions at the Texas Capitol, declaring the first ever “Library Day” in support of libraries and librarians in our state.

This show of support comes as more than 30 proposed bills in the 88th Texas legislative session threaten the librarian profession and the freedom to read, infringing upon First Amendment rights and intellectual freedom.

Texas Library Association executives and Texans for the Right to Read members were in attendance – see the Instagram reel. Use our social toolkit to ask your friends and family to join us!
