Neighbors against proposed Fitzhugh Music Venue cite growing wastewater concerns

by The 100 Companies

Central Texas community members continue to unite in the effort to stop a planned 5000-seat outdoor music venue southwest of Austin off of Fitzhugh Road.

The Stop Fitzhugh Concert Venue coalition organized against the proposed structure, citing traffic, noise and light pollution. Among its gravest concerns are the structure’s negative impacts to the environment – namely increased water runoff, which will deteriorate water quality in protected lands.

Approximately 22.02 acres of impervious cover is planned (66.45% of the total project site), which will likely degrade Barton Creek and local groundwater quality in violation of the Clean Water Act.
