As young women coming of age during the ’90s punk scene, the group Bikini Kill greatly influenced Jessica Freda and Cece Loessin. Fast track to 2017, the friends founded the bakery Zucchini Kill as a tribute to the feminist band’s music and politics.
Former band members themselves, they strive to incorporate music into their work. Many of their baked goods are named after musicians, and all are vegan plus free of gluten, soy and artificial food dye.
Located in the back of a house, customers say there’s no better place for cupcakes and a taste of Austin’s old hippie vibe.
