Advocating for Texas children and the role comprehensive children’s hospitals play in their unique treatment and recovery is the goal of Children’s Hospital Day.
Today, Children’s Hospital Association of Texas (CHAT) will host a lunch briefing at the Texas State Capitol where board president Cindy Stout will unveil advocacy priorities for this year’s legislative session.
The nonprofit created this day to shed light on the value of the state’s seven CHAT-member hospitals (including Austin’s own Dell Children’s Medical Center ), and spread awareness about the importance of comprehensive children’s healthcare – namely, board-certified pediatric specialists and child-focused physicians dedicated to treating kids.
