Fresh air and exercise are always in season, and with numerous spots to stretch your legs and take a stroll, Austin boasts hiking options for everyone:
• Red Bud Isle Trail promises a quick (.52 miles) in-and-out jaunt that’s especially geared toward hikers with water-loving dogs keen on roaming off-leash.
• Onion Creek Hike and Bike Trail, located within McKinney Falls State Park, is 2.8 miles of perfection for families traveling by foot, bike or stroller.
• River Place puts others to shame with a trio of trails (5 miles in total) considered some of the city’s most challenging.
