When I moved here in 1999, Kirk Watson was serving his first term as mayor. I remember his energy and talent in commanding a room. He was action oriented.
Austin is a different city today with a host of new challenges that come along with significant growth, and Mayor Watson is the right leader to unite our community around those challenges.
I remain a proud Austinite and feel fortunate to own a business and raise a family here, but like most, I see the need for change and appreciate Mayor Watson’s sense of urgency.
Here’s to a productive two years!
