My parents didn’t come from the United States, but they worked hard here helping others. My dad was a chef from Germany. He prepared meals for thousands of people. My mom is from Toronto and had a long career as an intensive care nurse.
We didn’t have a lot growing up, but I learned everyone has something to give – time, talent or treasure.
Today, one of my greatest joys is involvement in our community. And over the years I’ve learned this: If you’re having a bad day, go give to someone else. You can’t help but feel a bit better.
