Travis County Emergency Services District No. 2 has partnered with Tele911 in an effort to prioritize the region’s EMS response.
“This innovative partnership [stands] to significantly reduce the number of non-emergent, low-acuity ambulance transports […] which in return, increases resources and paramedic availability for true emergencies,” said Nick Perkins, Fire Chief for Travis County ESD No. 2.
For eligible patients, this virtual platform provides a live telehealth visit with an emergency physician; execution of a treatment plan specific to the patient’s needs, plus follow-up from the physician and a licensed social worker to provide links to local resources like primary care.
