This Saturday, Oct. 29, Texas Water Utilities will partner with the Kyle Police Department to provide a free medication disposal site (located at 111 N Front St. from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.) in honor of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
Improper drug disposal, especially via flushing, can lead to contamination of groundwater and community waterways. The take back program not only safely disposes of medicines, but also ensures that prescription drugs like opioids don’t end up in the wrong hands.
All accepted substances – including over-the-counter medications, ointments, patches, creams, non-aerosol sprays, vials and pet medications – will be destroyed.
